|THE BEARS WE HAD WHEN WE WERE SMALL
This is one of the
pages that's been on our site since we were really small, and even though
we've outgrown our bears now, we wanted to keep the page for those of you
who are actually interested in teddies.
Ben's bear, called simply Teddy, is now a very well worn animal. He was made in China, and was bought as a present for Ben when he was born by Louise's friend TJ.
Sadly, TJ has since passed away, and so Teddy is very special not just to Ben, but to Louise as well.
Teddy's coat was bought from a specialist bear shop in Simonstown in South Africa, while we were living in Cape Town. He also owns pyjamas, which were made specially for him by a lady called Thelma, who helped look after us while we were in Cape Town.
Bella, Jack's bear, was bought for him as a present by Ben on the day he was born.
Ben, who was then not quite 2, went shopping with Laurence and chose her from the toy shop near our house. She was made in Germany by the famous Steiff company.
She has very nice trousers, and a jumper which Louise made for her from old socks of Laurence's.
Bella wasn't always called Bella, but no-one quite remembers when Jack decided to give her the name.
If you visit our New York page you'll see Teddy and Bella on pilgrimage to the home of Teddy Roosevelt, the father of all bears.
